Helen Keller

J. Henry learned that Helen threw tantrums because she frustrated that she couldn't explain what she wanted.

"Helen made up her own signals to show that she wanted something," said Ayden.

"She was blind and deaf as a result of a bad fever," said Kylie.

JaHyia learned that her teacher was also blind before she taught Helen. She had an operation to fix her vision.

FOSS Science-Studying sound

The Waterphone:
Gianna noticed, "If you hit the bottle with the most water it makes a deeper sound."
"The lower the water, the higher the pitch," said Elliott.

The Xylophone:
Rakai heard when Hannah hit the shortest tube it made the highest sound.

The Kalimba:
"The longest stick made the deepest sound," said Matthew.
He also noticed that the shortest one made the highest pitch.

The String Beam:
"When you move the cup up the pitch is higher," said Bailey.
Kaylee said, "if you pull the string up at the top it makes a high sound. When you tap it at the bottom, it makes a very low sound."
