3rd grade field trip to Penn College (Pictures Coming Soon!!!)

We learned about plastics and how you use molds. When you light a candlestick it turns the plastic into a liquid which you can form into any shape. -Erick

Ariana said, "We went into a place where they could cut medal. There was a man named Mr. Good he used robots to cut the medal faster.

We all got a medal coin to take home. It was made by using a big and long rod of medal that was put into a machine and then it popped out little circles. Then we walked to another machine that drew Mickey Mouse on it. - I'Janay

Janna explained that the cake display explained that you need to wear special gloves and hats as part of your uniform to be a pastry chef. "They also let us try some yummy cake!"

We went to the collision and repair section. We learned that when you paint cars, you have to wear a special suit. - Mason

"They are funny," yelled Mr. Michaels from the hall.

Concrete Poems are about the picture your words are written in. We created one today in the shape of a sun. - Hayley

Sound through vibration

Damien playing the "Kalimba"

Playing the "Xylophone"
"The little/short stick was higher pitch because it takes a shorter amount of time for the vibrations to move through it." -Erick

Playing the "String Beam"
"When you pluck the string beam you can make a low sound or a high sound depending on how long the string is." -Lily

I'Janay and Janna playing the "Kalimba"
"Has a weird sound????? The movement through the vibration makes it weird." -Janna
"It looks weird!"- I'Janay

Emily playing the "string beam"
"The lowest pitch happens when the cup is on the short side. When you pluck it, the vibration takes a long time to get to the end. So, it creates a low pitch." -Emily
